[00:02:52] I mean, I got them hook up on Perkins and Triple A and everything. Wow. Really those are the benefits dating in older lady. Just joking. Just counts. That's count. This counts. Let's see. So when when we were in Vegas, we were at the pool.

[00:03:11] We had just got there and we sat down, found her chairs. And there's a younger man and an older lady sitting next to us. Really? Yes. You didn't see this? No. Okay. So I'm usually pretty attentive. I play the recon and uh, did I know it's?

[00:03:31] So I sat down because our empty chairs are literally right next to them. I was getting my towels set up on my chair and just, you know, getting settled in. And I could hear them talking. They were a planning they're evening together. If you know what I mean?

[00:03:46] No, I don't. I wasn't there. So they were discussing their uh, 60 time later that they were going to have when who's room and it was very obvious that That was what was going on. Well really. Yeah. What they was this?

[00:04:02] Um, I think Sunday, I think the last pool day. Because then they got up and left. Yeah. Oh. And I know what they were going to go do then. So what's the benefit at the bar? Probably. But yeah. That was definitely what was going on.

[00:08:29] Because it draws a metaphorical comparison to the animal, the cougar. So it wildlife cougars are strong, child and predatory creatures. So it won't apply to humans. The term suggests that the woman is confident, assertive and possibly seen as quote unquote hunting for younger men in a similar way.

[00:09:21] So the phenomenon of older women forming relationships with younger men is often referred to as may December. Relationships. Do you know what that means? No. Okay. So I'll explain. So may December relationships refer to as one person being younger, which resembles spring, so like the month of May.

[00:09:41] And then one person being older, representing December. So may December relationships. Yeah. But how do they know that it may in December older young months? December is the last month of the year.

[00:09:58] And spring is like May was so like that's like so when people get like to 18, 19, spring. No. You're just starting to bloom. Okay. Yeah. All right. So let's dive into some real history with older women being with younger men. So in ancient societies.

[00:10:20] So in some ancient cultures such as ancient Egypt, relationships between older women and younger men were not entirely uncommon. Notable figures like Cleopatra who married her brother. I know. Yeah. Wow. But she was 18 and he was 12. Lots. Yep. So different times. Yes. Definitely.

[00:10:40] So Cleopatra and her brother, as I was, I hope I pronounced this right. Tallamy. I think. Tallamy? I'm not sure. But Tallamy the 13th. So they remarried as part of the Egyptian tradition of sibling marriage among the rulers.

[00:10:57] So however, their relationship was primarily political and aimed at consolidating power within the ruling family. So it's unlikely that their relationship was romantic in the modern sense of dating. Thank goodness. But yeah. Different times. So they just come married for power. Yes. To keep it within the family.

[00:11:16] Oh. Okay. Yeah. But let me see wonder if they each had their own side like actual partners. Oh, they probably did. Yeah. I'm sure that was a thing. I believe from all the movies that I've seen they also have a side piece. Right. True. All right.

[00:11:34] On to the next. Medieval and Renaissance Europe. So during these periods. Marriage is in relationships. We're often influenced by social, economic, and political factors rather than age or romantic affection.

[00:11:48] Though less common, they were instances where older widows who had cured their wealth was in status married younger men. Basically it's like men taking advantage of an older wealthy woman which is no different than a younger woman doing the same thing to older wealthy man. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely.

[00:12:08] It's always been a thing. You know? Why not? Yes. I mean, they're two consenting dolls that that's what they want to do. Yep. That's the arrangement they have. All right. That's fine. All right. On to the next. 20th century to present day.

[00:12:22] So in the early 20th century relationships with significant age differences, especially involving older women and younger men. We're generally as dignetized. Society of norms emphasized men as the older more experienced partner. So typically women took advantage of older men. I guess we just talked about this. You know?

[00:12:42] Yeah. Goes back and forth. And then post 1960s. The social revolutions of the 1960s and 70s brought significant changes in attitudes towards relationships, gender roles and sexuality. The feminist movement in particular empowered women to seek fulfillment and per personal. Oh, can't talk today. Relationships beyond traditional norms.

[00:13:05] So yeah. Feminism. I think a lot of those movies you see the wealthy old women like going after the pool boys and like, you know? One movie that comes to mind is the graduate. Okay. We're, if you try to seduce her sons up. Oh, really? I've seen that.

[00:13:24] Mrs. Robinson. Oh yeah. Okay. You're right. I believe that was from the 60s. I think you're right. It's an older movie. You probably watched it. Yeah. So I think that's about in a way. Nope. There's more. So the term cougar didn't gain popularity until a lot of 2007. Really?

[00:13:47] Yeah. Then there's a show Cougar Town that premiered in 2009. It's available on Amazon on Hulu. All right. Let's see. Public, didn't we watch that? Yeah. No, I did not watch Cougar Town. I think I watched one episode during the research for this. Yeah. It's pretty good. All right.

[00:14:07] Public figures. High profile relationships involving older women. And younger men. So celebrities. Demi Moore and Ashen Cocher when they were together. She was 41 and he was 25. There was controversial back then. Yeah. They're no longer together now. But. So but Demi Moore's last relationship in 2022 was with 47 year old.

[00:14:33] And she was, yes, much older than him still. So Bruce Willis really. Master up. Is that what the broader to the young side? Is that what the theory is here? Well, I'm in Bruce Willis was also married to her. I believe. Okay. Yes. Did see that. Have children.

[00:14:54] Yeah. So after that relationship she's like, I'm going younger. Yep. That happens I got it. I had to watch a die hard. The next one is Madonna always dated. Younger men. Of course. So yeah. So, Barheem Zavie. She was 52 and he was 24.

[00:15:19] And then while dating Timmer Stephens, she was 55 and he was 26. Then her relationship with Alamil. How do you pronounce about an Alamik Williams? Alamilig. There we go. Alamilig. Yeah. Yeah. Madonna's definitely a cougar. This was happens when you hang out at the clubs. Right? All right.

[00:15:43] I'm like, college. This is my part. Nope. You wanted to do come a practice, right? Yeah. I'll do psychology. I'll do it. All right. So some people just want like a motherly or grandma energy to take care of them. The cougar wants to like relive their youth.

[00:16:24] But that's sad. But also I kind of get it. Like, I don't know if we're on a show and it's not a normal relationship. And you know, it's publicly putting it out there. But you know, they're happy then they're happy. Yes. That's fine.

[00:16:40] So this will get a bit more men. But got to put it out there. So one woman said her has been died while they were having sex. Oh. Yikes. So that's why she wanted to start dating a younger man because there is no possibility of that.

[00:16:59] Well, there is. But happening again. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. Kind of sad. But I mean, dare to say he went out with the bang, I guess. I mean, literally. Yeah. RIP.

[00:17:14] So according to a study, here's what they found as to why some men prefer to date older women for the experience. Older women have more life experience. The confidence. Older women typically are more assertive and confident in themselves. Emotional stability. Older women can offer emotional stability at nature.

[00:17:38] That's always true, but think it depends on how you're raised, but they seem to know what they want. And, you know. Yeah. They don't play games. Yep. No less mind games less drama. Um, so better sex drive match.

[00:17:53] See younger men may be better match with older women's sex drive. Women are older tend to have more of a sex drive, which can match younger guys. Really? After men opposed. Yeah. They really, yep. So. Yes. Well, that's the ass where our friend who's going through menopause. Yes.

[00:18:13] We will. So they're more laid back. And then we're accomplished. They're setting life and, you know, they've accomplished their goals and hopefully. Just looking a party. Yeah. So. And see something I watched was a 76 year old said that men get turned on by getting them turned on.

[00:18:39] Like it's a challenge. Like the younger guys like looks at the cougar as like a challenge. And if you can pick her up and at the bar and get with her then. Yeah. Okay. What a feat. So yeah. One story line I watched.

[00:18:57] Okay, so this is I don't like this. So it was a cougar and she was a middle school shaper out at a school dance. And at the dance she fell in love with the 12 year old student attending the dance. Let's messed up. Very messed up.
